Yoni Blessing is a ceremony, a transmission of energy and a Blessing from the Divine Mother to our sacred space, our Yoni Womb. Yoni is a Sanskrit word, and it has many meanings: vagina, womb, place of birth, source, origin, spring, fountain, place of rest. It is every woman's sacred temple, the shrine to our feminine energy, the origin of life, Shakti energy, the primordial cosmic energy, the creative force that moves through the entire universe. Our Yoni holds and cares for the un-manifested energy we carry in our womb. Imagine what can happen when we finally can tap into that energy.
I have been giving Yoni blessings for many years in sacred circles and personal sessions in Ireland and abroad. My work with Mother has constantly transformed since I started to pass on these blessings. If you have received the Yoni blessing before and would like to receive it again, you'll notice the difference in the energy. The beauty of this work is that it doesn't follow a script, I channel the blessing on the day of the ceremony, and it is going to be different from person to person and from group to group.
When I look back at my life, especially the last 20 years, I went through initiation after initiation to channel and embody this sacred energy so that I could help women do the same. Mother's voice, her powerful and kind energy, guided me to this place within my womb to remember the wisdom and knowledge I carry.
But let me explain what I mean when I say Yoni Womb. When I talk about the womb, I use the double term Yoni Womb because it really encompasses the entire energy centre of our Holy Space. You don't have to use the exact words. You can call your sacred altar the way that feels good to you. Yoni Womb is every woman's holy temple to our divinity and femininity, our centre of gravity, where everything starts and ends; it is our creative power and life force.
If we look at the physical body, it is the area where your root and sacral chakra reside. In this space, we have our internal and external sexual organs, our pelvic floor muscles and all the organs contained in them, and our hips.
This work comes from Goddess, the Divine Mother in me and all around me. Please let me specify that I am not linked to any school or teacher, and during the ceremony, I am simply channelling Mother's energy to pass on this beautiful blessing to you. It is a very personal blessing, it changes from person to person and from group to group. I channelled the prayers and meditations during the ceremony.
The length of the ceremony depends on the number of people participating in the sacred circle. We usually meet for one hour.
During a Yoni Blessing Ceremony, many things can happen. We may chant, pray, dance, and meditate. We'll follow Her voice and Her energy to guide us. A Yoni blessing is a transmission of power from the Goddess. When we receive a Yoni blessing, we reconnect with the divine feminine energy in all her forms, with the Goddess within and all around us, including our sexuality.
For women who have already surrendered to that connection, this is an opportunity to strengthen it and take it to the next level.
During this powerful ceremony, we'll use meditations, prayers, movement, mantras and energy to help us surrender and receive this blessing.
A critical and loving reminder! Please let me address the subject of hysterectomy and similar procedures in a few more lines. I was asked to address this subject by other women as they felt that they couldn't receive a Yoni blessing or work with their wombs because they had a hysterectomy.
Sister, Mother, Goddess, Woman and Friend, please let me reassure you that you can. Your Yoni Womb is a sacred space inside you made of pure, raw, primordial Goddess energy. The physical womb is an extension of that energy made of matter. Your physical womb and sexual organs are a physical manifestation, but the power of the Divine Mother is always within. If you had a hysterectomy, or you had to remove surgically parts of your internal organs, or you had FGM, you still have a womb, my dearest sister, and you can work with that energy in powerful ways.
